Inspired by our colleagues at VASTA, this series focuses on the spoken voice and those who specialise in it. We are delighted to present three events with speakers Christina Shewell, Barbara Houseman, and Susan Bamford Caleo across February and March. As ever, you can watch the recorded session post-event if you’re unable to attend.
"Roy Hart Centre Voice Work in Australia: Practice and Teaching" with Susan Bamford Caleo
In this presentation, Susan Bamford Caleo, Australia's first Accredited Roy Hart Voice Centre teacher, will speak about the background and philosophy of the Roy Hart Centre Voice work and its history in Australia. She will focus on the impact of that pedagogy on her work as a teacher and performer, especially regarding the exploration of embodied, extended and extreme voice and the role of voice in generating performance works.
